In light of the outbreak of coronavirus here in Michigan, we want to make you aware of the following changes in the life and worship of our church. We certainly don’t want to be caught up in undue fear or hysteria, but at the same time we want to be prudent and listen to advice we are receiving from health and government officials. Governor Whitmer’s executive order as of Friday, March 13, 2020, states that gatherings of over 250 people are banned and a violation of that order is considered a misdemeanor.
We have decided to cancel our usual services this Lord’s Day (Sunday, March 15). Instead, we will have a reduced attendance with only our consistory members and families, together with those needed to make the service happen. The morning and evening services will be available on sermonaudio and phone for everyone else. We’re sorry for the disappointment this will cause for those of you who cannot attend, but trust you understand that this is a unique and difficult situation. If, as is expected, this situation continues for several weeks, we will look to implement some kind of rotation (perhaps by district) for those who can come.
Please continue to check our website for further updates in the days and weeks ahead.
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we wrestle through these unchartered waters. Let’s all commit to calling upon the Lord in prayer that He would have mercy on us, and that we would hear His voice in this (Micah 6:9).
